During the evolution of the humanity, the skin colour has undergone significant changes. It was fair under the hair of our distant ancestors. When they lost their hair, their skin turned brown to provide protection against the sun. These people later moved towards northern areas, where their skin was less exposed to the sun due to the use of warm clothes, and the sun was not so strong there either. The skin of these people became fairer again. The skin colour is connected with many genes which take part in the production of melanin, where its form and amount are important.
